Today, I m going to show you process How to Root Micromax Funbook Android Tablet. Micromax Funbook was a budget priced tablet launched with latest Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich ICS. Moreover it was equipped with a 1.2 GHz Cortex A8 single core processor and Mali-400MP GPU. This Tablet was priced at RS 6999 in India and it has many nice features like HDMI port, capacitive screen and much more. Even I also liked the tab very much and purchased it but there were no rooting guide or apps available for it. But, few days ago on xda developer forum a member shared a sparkyroot apk file that can enabled root user rights on Micromax Funbook. I am providing here the detailed tutorial about how you can root the tab.
Rooting will provide you many advantages like you can install the new custom ROM's that will provide you better functionality. You can also install apps like SetCPU which will be helpful for you to overclock the tablet by increasing clock frequency from 1.2 GHz to 1.5 GHz for faster performance.

I would suggest backup your Funbook so that if you face any issue then you will not lose data. Backup all essential data like contacts, emails, settings, attachments, media etc.Make sure that yours phone have minimum of 70 % battery life. This is to ensure that you don’t run out of battery during the rooting procedure.You should enable USB debugging on your phone. On ICS you can go to Settings>>Developer options and Enable USB debugging.We would also suggest to disable any antivirus or Firewall that can restrict the process.

Step 1: You will need to download the Sparkyroot.apk or the FunbookRooting package from here. This file needs to be installed on your Tablet. Download this file and proceed for the next step.
2: Once you have downloaded the file transfer it to your Tablet external SD card by connecting the tablet with your PC via USB storage Mode.
3: Disconnect the Tab and now install apk manager from Play store that will help you with installing app.
4: Now, go to Settings>>Security and Enable Unknown sources in Device administration tab. Now, open apk manager and try to install the app.
5: Open the sparkyroot that you have installed and tap on "Exploit" button. This will root the device and will not touch kernel or firmware. Now, you can install SuperSU from Play store.
